Blasa Rivera made her commitment to the Sisters of Charity as the first Auxiliary member on September 5, 1973, in Pueblo, Colorado, and with it the relationship officially began.
In the spring of 1975 the Chapter approves the concept of Auxiliary membership.
Elizabeth Ann Seton, founder of the Sisters of Charity, is canonized.
The Chapter of 1979 approved both forms of Co-Memberships. Auxiliary (Associate in Mission) and Associate (Associate in Community)
