Updates
We will also be working with Girl Scouts throughout the Cincinnati area via zoom until we can
meet in person. Several troops will be working on Girl Scout Journeys which are designed to
promote leadership development. To complete a journey the girls have to identify a problem they
want to do something about, come up with a sustainable, creative solution that will make a
difference, create a team plan to make that solution a reality and put their plan into action. Other
troops plan to work on badges related to the environment which facilitate skill development.
This year the national Girl Scout office announced a new Global Action Award for all age
groups which will focus on climate action. Girls will find out about climate change and explore
responses to care for the environment. Earth Connection will be working with local troop leaders
on this new initiative.
